Why commemorate 50 years of the National Cancer Act?

Making The Commitment

Our national commitment to making progress against cancer began with The National Cancer Act of 1971. In creating the infrastructure and mechanisms needed for large-scale cancer research we have lead the world in the fight.

From President Richard Nixon signing the National Cancer Act of 1971 into law, to then vice President Joe Biden’s 21st Century Cures Act, dubbed “Cancer Moonshot” America has lead the way in funding cancer research. All the more reason to commemorate the National Cancer Act.
