Program director of Cancer Support Community Delaware, Sean Hebbel has tried to start a support group for husbands of women fighting breast cancer but few show up. He has advice for husbands whose wives have breast cancer.
Most men are accustomed to fixing stuff so when husbands do participate they are given specific tasks like sitting with their wife in her hospital room.

He advises men not to avoid sharing their feelings. “Don’t run away from strong emotions,” he said. “Just be in the room, don’t run away.” This is very good advice.
